Seared Ahi Tuna with Sesame Seeds - Star Gazer Merlot Pairing
This is a quick, simple and beautiful dish to enjoy with your friends for a get together this summer! Ingredients:
1 or 2 Ahi Tuna (or Yellowfin) steaks
1 or 2 tablespoons of olive oil or sesame oil
Black or white sesame seeds (whichever you prefer)
Olive oil for cooking
Wasabi (already prepared in a tube)
Soy sauce
Instructions:
Rub each steak with 1 or 2 tablespoons of olive oil (depending on how many steaks used)
On a small plate, mix an even amount of sesame seeds and press the steaks onto the seeds to make an even coating on the top and bottom of each steak.
In a medium sauce pan heat a small amount of olive oil on high,
Add the Ahi Tuna to the pan and cook on each side for 60 to 90 seconds. Side will be a beautiful pink.
You can serve hot or cold! When plating the Ahi Tuna slice it into even pieces and serve with a side os soy sauce and a dollop of wasabi.
